FAQS
Why study abroad in Dublin during the summer?
Six reasons:
1. Location/accessibility: Dublin is only a 5-6 hour flight from the US east coast. Which is about the same as the US east coast to the west coast.
2. Although ACD staffers are always available to students, you’ll learn to live independently and grow as an individual much more than you would living on an American college campus.
3. Dublin and Ireland are very safe.
4. The City is very walkable and public transportation readily available. Dublin is also the Gateway to Europe (with easy and short) flights to the Continent.
5. Culture: This lively City features an incredible food, music and performing arts scene. It’s so easy to find your favourite local (pub) to enjoy.
6. The Irish people: The City has a large and diverse student population, with a great social scene. And the Irish have a long-standing reputation for being welcoming, kind and genuinely hospitable.
What are ACD’s application deadlines?
ACD uses a rolling admission process, so there are no fast and hard application dates. However, you should pay attention to the application dates at your home institution.
Will my credits transfer over to my home institution?
They should, since ACD is accredited in the US by Middle States (MSCHE). However, you’ll need to check with your own school’s study abroad office, or registrar.
Where will I live while I am in Dublin?
ACD contracts with a variety of housing providers in Dublin. Accommodations are for shared rooms, dormitory-style, within walking distance of ACD. The study abroad fee paid to ACD does include your accommodation and breakfast, plus a few other special meals.
