The four-year Bachelor of Arts in International Business emphasizes international business, addressing global challenges through a mix of theory, practice, and work experience. Lectures are interactive, encouraging students to share ideas and opinions while focusing on developing personal skills like public speaking and debating. The culturally diverse student body enriches the learning environment with varied perspectives.
The first year builds a strong foundation in American-style general education modules. In the subsequent three years, the focus shifts to international business, covering global marketing, international finance, cross-cultural management, and international trade. This approach ensures students understand the complexities of global business.
On completion of the fourth year, students gain practical experience through an eight-week internship at a multinational firm. This hands-on experience allows them to apply classroom knowledge, understand international business operations, and build professional networks.
The four-year program has US accreditation with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). Students graduating from this program will be awarded two diplomas, one accredited in Ireland and one accredited in the US.
American College Dublin students have a wide range of opportunities open to them when they complete their degree. Academically, graduates can enter the college’s Master of Business in International Business and the MBA in International Business or enter a master’s, doctoral or professional studies in other institutions. Alternatively, graduates who wish to pursue a professional accountancy qualification will receive four exemptions from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
